The King and Queen

Homecoming coronation was held on Tuesday, October 3rd at 7 PM in the West Sioux High School gym.  Marlyn Topete was named Queen and Adolfo Hernandez was named King. Marlyn was born in Sioux City, Iowa.  She currently lives with her mom here in Hawarden.   Her favorite high school memories were cheering at wrestling meets and football games. Rett Syndrome Awareness

One special little girl from the Hawarden community has been through a lot in her two years of life. Anya Parmeter, daughter of Kylie Johnson, former West Sioux graduate and school employee, and Andrew Parmeter, former West Sioux student, has been diagnosed with Rett Syndrome.  She is also the niece of West Sioux senior football player Wyatt Johnson. Anya is loved by so many in her community.  People have shown so much . . .

Falcon Flow Contest

The second ever Falcon Flow Contest was recently held in the high school to determine which guy has the best looking hair. They started off with ten contestants and held a round of voting to eliminate it down to five contestants. The final five contestants were Conner Koopmans, Chase Koopmans, Trevor Schuller, Victor Hernandez, and Zach Hulshof.  Trevor Schuller had quite a lead during the first round of voting but . . .
