NHS Students Read To 2nd Graders

The National Honor Society members and Mr. Sperle recently took a field trip down to the Hawarden Elementary School to present the 2nd graders with books. Students get a head start on college

West Sioux students earned a 178 college credits during the first semester.  These classes help students get a big head start before going to college.  Many of the kids taking these classes could already be sophomores in college by the time they have graduated high school.  With so many classes available, many of them take several classes at once.  It enables them to get many done and not have to pay for them . . .

Youth wrestling tournament has a big turnout

On January 5th, West Sioux held its annual youth wrestling tournament with over 300 entries, and more than 50 of the entries were from the West Sioux youth program.  Youth wrestling has kids from TK through 8th grade.  Their largest numbers come from kindergarten through 4th grade.  They hold practice at two different locations at the high school on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00.  The TK through 2nd grade practice . . .
