Ms. Beacom is teaching Government, World Cultures, Sociology, and Economics at West Sioux. Her major goals in teaching Economics are to teach the students how economics affects them and how they need to be prepared for the “real world”. To keep her students interested in the subjects she is teaching, she tries to involve the students as much as possible and to break things up with projects.
Ms. Beacom’s favorite class to teach is Sociology because they are able to get open discussions going daily in class and see real growth in each student. In her government class they are currently finishing up their President’s unit and will be starting on our Judicial Branch Unit shortly. Ms. Beacom is currently not working on any projects in any of her classes, but they just finished up a Who’s Who of the Cabinet booklet in Government class. In her World Cultures class they just finished WW I and WW II and have just started studying the Cold War.
