The Iowa Association of School Boards annual conference was held in Des Moines on November 19. West Sioux was asked to be a part of a panel to discuss how the 21st century skills were being addressed in classrooms. The main focus of West Sioux's presentation was the newly developed classes within the vocational agriculture department.
Tom Chapman, vocational agriculture teacher, and Kim Buryanek, 6-12 principal, spoke to more than 100 attendees about the Agricultural Renewable Fuels class and the Introduction to Veterinary Science class. Both classes have been added to West Sioux's curriculum in the last two years.
The Power Point presentation can be viewed at IASB presentation.
