by Ellyn McPherson

November 29, 2007

National Honor Society is a group of young people that have an overall grade point average of 3.3.  These students are required to do five hours of community service each year.  This year they will be waiters and waitress at the HAAP banquet.  Each year they work at the Hawarden Hospital dinner fund raiser.  At present the members are doing a hat and glove drive for the elementary buildings.  The biggest accomplish this year is that the students visited with all the residence on Avenue P and they were very supportive along with the City Council to change the street to Falcon Drive.  Officers this year are Jamie Kingma, president; and Kate Ericson, secretary-treasurer.  Mr. Jim Hansen is the main sponsor for this group.

National Honor Society members Jerod, Kris, Jesse, Jamie, Grant, Kyle, Tyler, Caressa, Diana, Kayla, Whitney, Lisa, Michael, Kate and Mr. Hansen.
